I'm Amy Faulkner. I'm a Welsh-born Londoner and live with my family in Isleworth, West London. Along with yoga I love travel, a good book, and long lunches with friends and family. I have a background in international development and am passionate about people realising their full potential.
I've been practising and enjoying yoga for over 20 years - I love how it makes me feel both physically and emotionally and try to convey that during my teaching. I studied with the British Wheel of Yoga, and have a 500 hour level 4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga.

People come to yoga for all sorts of different reasons - to relax, recharge, face a new challenge or simply have some time to themselves. I aim to cover all of those - we spend time checking in with the body, breath and mind before moving round the mat in our asanas (physical postures) at a level that suits each individual. We also make time for pranayama (breathing) practice and guided relaxation. Some students are at the start of their yoga journey and others have been practising for years. What's important is to come with an open heart and a willingness to explore just what your body and mind can do!
"Amy establishes an incredibly warm and friendly atmosphere, making each class feel like a communal activity, in which participants are sharing a truly valuable experience rather than pushing themselves to achieve physical perfection."

private, corporate and kids yoga
"Learning yoga has ensured I have regular exercise and gives a real sense of achievement and feeling healthier. Amy responds to your individual needs with tailored sessions and a healthy level of challenge. I would highly recommend grounded yoga." Private client, January 2018
Sometimes people just can't commit to a regular class but still want to make time for yoga in their lives. I am able to teach you in the privacy and comfort of my personal studio. Social distancing and cleanliness rules are followed and exceeded. If you have the space, I can discuss coming to your home too. All private session are tailor made for you as an individual.
I offer corporate packages for a lunchtime or post work stretch to get rid of any tension and help deal with stress in the workplace. As long as you have a space large enough to put some mats on the floor, any area of an office can double up as a yoga studio.
And kids love yoga too - it's a great way for them to understand what they can achieve with their bodies in a non-competitive and fun environment, while also making space for some quiet time in their busy lives. I am fully trained and DBS checked, so can offer classes in or outside of school.
post natal and baby yoga
I am not offering drop in baby yoga classes at the moment, but they remain a wonderful way to connect to your baby and your body after giving birth! If you are part of a postnatal group and you're interested in having a class together then do let me know. I can safely fit 3 adults and 3 babies in my home yoga studio. This practice is suitable for postnatal adults and babies who have had their six week GP check, until the babies are crawling and mobile.
I just wanted to say how much I really love your beginner yoga classes and I would love to continue when this block is finished. You are so patient and I love the non-competitive, accepting way you practise. The handouts are really helpful too. Beginners course, September 2017
I have been so grateful for your wonderful yoga classes...they have helped me find an inner strength to complete a challenging work project by putting me back in touch with my body and also by quietening my thoughts and giving me a space to truly relax and unwind. Regular student, January 2018
Amy is absolutely first class...a brilliant teacher and lovely person. Regular student, December 2018
Having had a fair few yoga teachers in the past you're by far the best - thank you! Regular student, November 2019
